What we collect and why
We collect the email address you provide, your signup source, confirmation and subscription status, and information you choose to send in a reply. We use this information to confirm your signup, deliver the weekly newsletter, manage your subscription and respond to you. The signup form asks for email only; it does not enroll you in text messages.
Our email service
We use Kit to host signup pages, manage subscriptions and deliver email. Kit processes subscriber data for us under its Data Processing Agreement. Technical and activity data may include IP address, browser or device information, approximate location, delivery records, opens and link clicks. Processing may take place in the United States and other locations used by Kit and its service providers.
We use Google Workspace to receive and respond to messages sent to our business email address.
Measurement and cookies
Kit uses technologies such as cookies and email pixels. We use available reports to understand signup activity and improve the newsletter; recorded opens and clicks are estimates, not proof that a person read an email. We have not added optional advertising pixels or third-party analytics integrations to our signup page. This does not mean the page or emails are free of Kit's own service tracking.
Sponsorships and sharing
The newsletter may include clearly labeled sponsorships. We do not sell or rent our subscriber list, or provide advertisers with individual subscriber email addresses. We may share aggregate campaign results with sponsors. Subscribing to Beaverton This Week does not by itself sign you up for a sponsor's mailing list. Links to event organizers, venues and other sites take you to services with their own privacy practices.
Your choices
Use the unsubscribe link in a newsletter to stop future newsletter emails. For access, correction or deletion requests, email beaverton@smallmapmedia.com. We may ask you to verify control of the relevant email address before acting on a request.
Retention
We keep subscription records while providing the newsletter and as needed to handle requests and meet applicable obligations. Unsubscribing does not automatically delete every record. We may retain limited suppression information to respect your opt-out. Contact us if you want your information deleted; we will explain any information we need to retain.
Updates
We will date changes to this notice and provide additional notice when appropriate.
